We’re excited to announce a 24-hour Music Technology Hackathon taking place on December 14-15, 2024, at the Centre for Digital Music, Queen Mary, University of London. This event is designed to give participants a chance to build something amazing from scratch – and have a lot of fun in the process.
Who’s Invited?
Whether you’re a coder, product manager, musician, designer, sound engineer, or musicologist, we want you here. This hackathon is open to everyone, so if you have a passion for music tech and a desire to create, we have a spot for you. Gather your team (or meet one there!) and join like-minded people for an immersive, fast-paced challenge.
What’s the Challenge?
Each team will have 24 hours to design and build a creative app from scratch. The possibilities are limitless: audio utilities, music generators, sound effects, production tools – whatever you can dream up. Groups of 3-4 will collaborate to bring their ideas to life, with guidance from experts to assist with technical aspects and cutting-edge tools to help you build faster.
What’s at Stake?
The most innovative and exciting creations will be evaluated by a jury, with winning teams receiving a chance to release their product on Muse Hub! Winners will also be showcased as the “Indie App of the Month,” a fantastic opportunity to gain visibility in the music tech community and take a first step toward transforming a project into a future startup. Stay tuned as we’ll reveal more prizes closer to the event!
Why Participate?
This is an incredible chance to work at the intersection of music and technology, gain hands-on experience with the latest tools, and meet people who are as excited about music tech as you are. Whether you’re looking to build your resume, develop your skills, or just have fun working on a new idea, this hackathon is the place to be.
