We’re excited to announce that we’ve partnered with Audio Imperia to bring their stunning libraries, Nucleus and Solo, to MuseScore via exclusively crafted MuseSounds Editions.
MuseSounds Editions are built for simplicity, affordability and incredible ease of use within notation software. You don’t need to think about key switches, or MIDI controllers or any kind of setup – just use MuseScore Studio as you normally would, press play, and enjoy the result.

Let’s have a look at what joys await with the first two MuseSounds releases from Audio Imperia…
Nucleus
Nucleus is an absolute powerhouse of a library; encompassing 48 instruments spanning an epic orchestra, plus sound design patches to enhance and layer extra elements with.
If you’re interested in writing for epic orchestra; which is often the sound you hear in Hollywood films, on trailers, adverts and high budget television shows, then Nucleus is a perfect launchpad to start composing in this style.
Solo
Audio Imperia Solo takes on almost the exact opposite of Nucleus; the intimacy and expressiveness of individual instruments.
There’s an array of soloists to write for:
- Strings – Violin, Viola, Cello
- Brass – Trumpet, French Horn, Descant Horn
- Winds – Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, English Horn, Bassoon
- Voice – Soprano Angelic and Operatic
Each instrument has been sampled with extraordinary attention to detail, featuring a slow, lyrical, and expressive legato style. The performances capture the nuances of a live musician, with notes that bloom organically, showcasing vibrato and subtle dynamic shifts.
Solo shines brightest when crafting lyrical, expressive, and slow-moving lines. The violin, for example, isn’t designed for rapid Paganini-style virtuosity but instead focuses on the sheer beauty of simple, melodic phrases. This deliberate limitation encourages composers to explore the emotional depth of their scores, making Solo a perfect tool for evocative storytelling.

Nucleus and Solo complement each other beautifully. While Nucleus provides the grandeur and cohesion of a full orchestra, Solo adds a layer of individuality and intimacy. Together, they allow composers to create highly convincing and realistic orchestrations, particularly when used with thoughtful arrangement and orchestration techniques.
